CertX terms and conditions for trainings and events

Our terms and conditions for trainings and events (GCTT) are set out in full below. Please read carefully prior you register to any CertX event.

1. Booking and Cancellation

1.1.        Registration

Upon your request received either through the website of CertX or any other form of communication, CertX will provide a formal offer for attending the event.

Reservations are only being made with the formal acceptance of the offer. A confirmation of your registration will be sent to you immediately. If you have not received an email confirmation within 24 hours after your registration, please contact the team at info@certx.com or the respective trainer.

1.2.       Payment and Confirmation

With registration by CertX the payment for the event becomes due. Payments must be made in full at the time of registration to one of the indicated bank accounts on the offer according to the currency of the quotation.

Bookings will be confirmed by CertX only upon receipt of the full amount of the fees if not defined otherwise.

1.3.        Cancellations

Should you need to cancel your participation, please inform CertX in writing (info@certx.com) or the respective trainer immediately. Cancellation fees will be deducted as indicated upon the receipt of a written cancellation and will be handled as follows:

Up to 6 weeks / within 2 weeks after the booking date

Refund of 100% of the fees deducted by an administrative fee of EUR 50 / CHF 60

Up to 2 weeks before the event

Refund of 50% of the course fee.

Less than 2 weeks before the event

No refund

2. Attending the Event

2.1.        Reaching the event

CertX accepts no liability if a participant is unable to attend an event due to adverse weather conditions or any travel disruption or inability of the participant e.g. such as illness or accident of the participant.

2.2.        Accommodation

For certain events, CertX may suggest exclusive offers and discounts for hotels. These discounts may vary depending on the location of the event. For further details about the offers or hotels, please refer to the booking conditions of the event you are attending. Participants must handle their own bookings.

2.3.        Meals

CertX usually offers refreshments during the event breaks however meals are not included if not specified otherwise.

3. Substitution

A participant, who cannot attend, may send a substitute participant without any additional cost. Please inform CertX (info@certx.com) or the respective trainer in writing prior to the event.

4. Event Confirmations or Certificates

A confirmation of your attendance will be sent to you provided you attended the defined number of hours (usually 80% or 100%) and that the fees have been paid in full.

For applicants for a certificate the rules and obligations for person certification apply in addition (separate annex).

5. Non-EU/Swiss Participants

CertX welcomes participants from overseas but if you are resident outside the European Union (EU) or Switzerland you should ensure that you have a valid visa and can comply with all immigration requirements before registering to an event taking place in the EU or in Switzerland.

If you do not have a visa before registering and you are unable to obtain one, cancellation fees will be levied. Any travel costs or any other expenses whatsoever incurred are entirely the participant’s responsibility.

6. Data Protection

Payment must be made in full at the time of registration unless specifically stated.

Data Protection

Whenever we collect personal information from you, we will do so in a lawful and fair way. CertX is committed to handling your personal data in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”)[1].

We will use your personal data for event administrative matters and communications for the purpose of managing your registration and participation to the event based on the necessity for CertX to meet its obligations as organiser of the event. Personal details may be available to third parties directly related to the organisation of an event such as but not limited to for the purpose of registrations, reservations, special meals or name tag creation.

Should you not wish for your details to be passed on for any of the above purposes, please contact the CertX team at info@certx.com or directly the trainer.

For any further communications with you pre or post-event, including information about other CertX events or offerings, CertX will ask for your consent in advance.

7. Intellectual property

The event documentation, in particular the presentations and lecture notes, are subject to copyright. The content and information are intended for personal use of the participants only. Any further use, in particular saving it on a any form of media or in cloud services, duplication, translation, transformation, dissemination, in all or part, as well as any commercial use is forbidden without prior written approval by CertX.

All attendees must acknowledge this intellectual property rules before attending the event except they are covered by a separate NDA in place.

8. Disclaimer

We are committed to offer a program of high and consistent standard and value. However, we reserve the right to change the content and timing of the program, the speakers, the date or the venue at any time prior to the event date or may have to cancel the course entirely.

In case the attendee selects not to accept the change, or the course is cancelled we will refund 100% of all fees paid. In such a case neither the CertX nor their representatives will be liable for any loss incurred by any participant.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Swiss law and each party hereby irrevocably submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Fribourg, Switzerland.
